Meet Bhavya Malhotra

Bhavya Malhotra is a trauma-informed therapist who views the practioner-user relationship as a journey to explore safety, growth, and change. She completed her Master's in Applied Psychology in Clinical and Counseling Practice from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, in 2022.

Her training introduced her to the basics of Trauma Therapy and Addiction therapy. She views Mental Health concerns from a bio-psycho-social lens.

She uses a client-centered, narrative approach based in mindfulness for dealing with, but not limited to, concerns like body image, self-esteem, anxiety, stress, and emotional distress. Her previous experience includes engaging with vulnerable populations at the intersections of gender justice and mental health.

When she is not reading up on Psychology, she is writing to break the stigma of seeking therapeutic help.

She believes that the top doesn't have to be lonely if we help each other up.

Practice Areas

The following is a non-exhaustive list of my practice areas

01

Trauma-informed Care

I understand the role trauma plays in shaping the mind and body and, thus, practice in a way that ensures safety.

02

I see our differences in thinking and perceiving on a spectrum: there is no one way of being - just different.

03

Queer-affirmative
(in training)

I affirm gender and sexuality and do not see them as binary. I continue to learn and expand my knowledge so that burden does not fall on my clients.

04

Adolescents

I hold space for adolescents to explore and understand their feelings, behaviours, and thoughts and their identity

05

Young Adults

I hold space for Young Adults as they manage 'adulting' and figure out things for themselves

06

Adults

I hold space for Adults to work through stressors of life with their roles and responsibilities
